Injury Report: Denver Broncos Quite Healthy In Time For Rival Raiders Matchup

" It’s Raiders week, and even though the two teams are at the opposite ends of the NFL spectrum, this is Denver versus Oakland is still a rivalry.

Broncos players should know the importance of this contest in a historical context, and in terms of just the 2014 season, it’s without a must-win. Denver is 6-2, losing last week in convincing fashion to the New England Patriots. Yet, the Broncos are still squarely in place to compete for a third Super Bowl victory – they’re “Chasing Lombardi” as John Elway put it in March – while the Raiders are the worst team in the NFL at 0-8.

Onto the injuries; much like the two teams’ opposite success stories, the Broncos and Raiders are respectfully one of the luckiest and least lucky in terms of hurt players.

Denver will be without Nate Irving this Sunday afternoon, which comes as no surprise following his MCL sprain in the Patriots loss. The good news is that Steven Johnson, who is still nursing a sore knee, was a full participant this week during practice and will likely get the start for Irving at middle linebacker "
