DU Gears Up For Presidential Debate, Sends Note To Neighbors
" DENVER (CBS4) – The first of the presidential debates is a week away, and it’s happening right in Denver.

The debate will take place at the University of Denver on Oct. 3 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. It’s the first time a presidential debate has been held in Colorado.

DU sent out a note this week to people who live next to or close to campus with some advance warning about the debate specifics. They included the information that the debate will happen at the Daniel L. Ritchie Center for Sports & Wellness and is expected to draw approximately 4,000 journalists from across the country and around the world.

The following specifics surrounding the debate were included in DU’s notification:

From Monday, Oct. 1, through Wednesday, Oct. 3, some areas on campus will be closed. The University of Denver will not hold classes on Oct. 3. Expect some heavy traffic and potential delays on University Boulevard. Please use Downing or Colorado Boulevard as alternate routes.

Sept. 25-Oct. 1: Buchtel Boulevard: South-bound lane (one lane only running west to east) will be closed between High Street and University Boulevard.
